The U.S. Open Adaptive Surfing Championships and Stoke for Life Foundation want to extend our deepest gratitude and heart felt thank you to all the volunteers that came out and made so many dreams come true.

We want to thank Stoke for Life water team specialists John Afshari and Mike Spikerman, also on the front lines were Ric Vaughn, Kim McRae, Jeff Bruder, Anthony Shute, Eugene and Gene Roberts among many others. Maureen Johnson Instructor of Occupational Therapy from the University of St. Augustine you are amazing as are all the students that came out to volunteer for this event. It’s incredible the support your students have shown the adaptive surfing community we are so grateful for all your help.

We want to thank Ian Tucker and Travis Fain for keeping the peace in the vendor area and parking lot, you both have been on many missions with the team and we depend on you. Thank you to Robert Carreon and Island Security for the night watch, it was vital to the event.

To run an adaptive surf event whether it is a surf camp, paddle camp, or a surf contest it cannot happen without able body volunteers. As much praise that happens for the people that put on the event we want to shine that light on the people that really make the events happen, the volunteers. Here are some incredible images from the U.S. Open Adaptive Surfing Championships courtesy of our volunteers.
